ReplyDeleteYes, social media can be very dangerous. Sometimes people say or post things that can hurt someone else's feelings without knowing. If the other person has a problem with what is shown they can text the other person causing a fight. Normally when a fight happens on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram it goes into there everyday lives. When the two people meet they might have the feeling to fight the other person or bully the other person. Even though I do have a Facebook, Instagram and Twitter I am careful about what I say to prevent this. This is why I strongly feel technology as of social media can be very dangerous.

DeleteI think technology can pose as a danger to people. People that are involved in social media can be directly in danger. On Facebook from just looking at your profile you can get what town they live in what there job is and where they go to school. Also people don't notice this but whatever you post online is there forever. Social media is also getting better with privacy settings but it is still not safe. Even though we have these settings it is still not the safest thing to be on all these sights. There is so many things going on like cyber bullying and hacking into peoples account. Even thought there are so many safety precautions it is still not safe to be on social media.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is very unpredictable, s and i believe it can be a danger towards people. Social Media for instance. People can make fake accounts on Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. Maybe that person will post fake stuff on that account towards the real person. Imagine we finally made time travel a reality. We wouldn't know what in the past we are altering. Who knows we can come back? It would also be financially bad, spending millions on an unknown theory. And most of all, Robots and AI's. These artificial beings can turn on us any time of the day. Just watch any robot movie! But in order to make these dangers fictional, we must take major precautions. But in my eyes, technology will always have threats to us.

DeleteYes, I do think that there can be dangers in technology. Social media is good and bad. For example, people bully other human beings either trying to be funny or gain popularity. Also, people can get to know other people and create friends which is good. In addition, some people show or tell their location, when that happens and everyone can see it, random people could come to your house or if your not home, steal from your house. Social media is more of a bad thing then a good.
ReplyDeleteA common worry is that technology and social medias is taking over our lives today. Many people think that this can actually be dangerous to our society. I do not agree with this theory. Technology is improving by the second which is making our lives easier than ever. If you’re in trouble and have your cell phone, all you have to do is make one simple call or text and help can be on the way. If you don’t remember where your soccer game is, you can look on twitter or instagram and see if someone posted it and you’ll be on your way in seconds. Technology is also changing things much bigger than these examples. Diseases can be cured through the improvements in technology. I can’t wait to see what the future holds in technology.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post I do agree that technology is useful and has brought thing like medicine a long way. Some improvements i agree are extraordinary, but some are also very dangerous. For example, some of the newer vaccines created with technology have severe side effects and are causing cancer. I think you made great points, but I also think we need to be careful.

People can put themselves in danger by posting inappropriate comments or pictures online. You can also put yourself in danger by harassing somebody else. For example, if you are calling people names or making fun of someone, you are cyber bullying. That puts you in a ton of danger whether it was a "joke" or not. Once you send something, it's out there forever. It doesn't just automatically erase. Posting mean comments about someone over social media can also lead to problems in school. If your posting about somebody and they talk about it in school, now it's the schools problem to solve. Bullying isn't tolerated at all so it will put you in danger. These sights can also pose a danger to people. This is because like I said before posting inappropriate words, pictures or being a bully can get you into multiple kinds of danger. You always have to be careful about what you say because the internet can put anyone into danger.

DeleteI feel that there can be dangers in technology because it can cause many problems, whether the problem may be small or big. For example, in the book "The Sound of Thunder", the people invented a time traveling machine that can travel back into the dinosaur age and hunt only the ones that are about to die soon. The main character, Eckles, wanted to go hunt in the old days. When he arrived there, he panicked and ran off the path and killed a butterfly. Travis warned all the hunters to not stray from the path but Eckles did. After they killed the dinosaur and traveled back to the regular time, everything changed. The president changed from when he first decided to go hunting, Keith won the election to when he came back, Deuther won the election. Technologies helped make social media like facebook, twitter, and instagram. These medias can be a danger to people cause people are often bullied online without teachers or their parents knowing. Many students get bullied everyday and so much that they eventually commits suicide. As you can see, there are many dangers in technology and it can pose a danger to lots of people.
ReplyDeleteYea I feel all these sights are a danger to people. Technology is getting better everyday, but I feel one day it will become a danger. Relating back to the story the time machine was a great thing to have, but I feel it was to powerful and really isn't needed in the world at all. So like Social Media now is fun to use, but it can get out of control. People in today's world don't have patients for things anymore. So say if Social Media is under maintenance people might freak out about it. This might cause some conflict with people. This could be a serious danger to the social media network.

DeleteAlthough advancing in technology is great it can come with a cost. No matter what kind of social media or technology created I think there will always be some sort of dangers. For example, you could look at almost anyones profile and see a type of bullying or a negative comment. Also its not as surprising as it used to be to see someone be cyberbullying on the internet anymore. A lot of people tend to forget how society has changed since technology was created. People would rather stay home and snapchat somebody than actually see them face to face for an actual conversation. I think little things such as a conversation might get so rare that if we try to meet new people it would become harder. In addition, technology has become dangerous not just in bullying but health as well. If you are always on a computer sooner or later you would need to get your eyes checked. You would be surprised at how bad your eyesight has changed! Furthermore, spend most of your time on the web also can have an affect on your mental health. There has been cases that people have lost sight of what's really happening around them and become so immersed in technology. Overall, I think that technology can be dangerous in many ways, not just for the reasons I have listened.

I think that technology is only making our lives better and making things easier to live. Both through Travis' explanation of how life changing killing even a small mouse could be, and within the conclusion of the passage. Although not as drastic, technology of our day in age posts a very great threat as a whole. Social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are some of the main contenders. Since the start of Facebook cyber-bullying has been an issue. Rude comments, fowl messages, and even as far as fake photography made in photoshop bring people to the breaking point. It would seem today that Twitter is the hub of rumors and untrue accusations. Whether it be an average everyday person or an NFL superstar, there is some type of lie floating around about that person. Social media aside, technology threatens the lives of millions everyday. Quite recently the use of chemical weaponry (created through technology) almost destroyed an entire country. As most of you know 9/11 just passed recently and the sad truth is that it could have been prevented. If the technologically advanced aircrafts that we use to reach obscenely were not created, neither would that horrible form of warfare. In all honesty the constant advancement in technology can’t be stopped, it’s within our nature to keep progressing, but the dangers that come with each advancement can be prevented.

I believe that technology has way more advantages than disadvantages. Technology is really making our lives easier and better. For example, I have an iPhone which I use for almost everything. If I were to get lost or need directions to somewhere I can find my way to anywhere I need to be in seconds. Also, the technology in hospitals is saving tons of lives every single day. Doctors and nurses rely on technology to help and save people, so without the technology that we have today a lot of people would unfortunately die. If you are in a dangerous situation all you have to do is make a quick phone call and somebody will be on their way to help you. Modern day technology also helps people get information on certain topics almost instantly. All you need to do is type in whatever you need to know to into a search engine, such as google and something will come up to answer your question. Technology is also making our lives more enjoyable with apps like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter which millions of people use everyday. Technology is always improving and will never stop. I am exited to see what the future holds for technology.
ReplyDeleteThere can be many dangers when it comes to technology. These days everything and anything is driven by it. For starters, the government uses technology and doesn't use it for little things , but for everything. Anything from a birthday to something that could ruin someone's life. The world is filled with hackers and people that want to steal someone else's things. One wrong hit of a button and you could ruin the life and families of other people. Second, you can't trust anybody with secretive technology because it only takes one person to tell the whole world something. For example, Edward Snowden. He was a high school drop out who somehow, someway got to the most secretive computers in the U.S.. He told the whole country that the government was viewing all of our messages, calls, and emails. Them seeing all of this could be dangerous. What if instead of telling the world the government did this, he got our personal passwords and SSN's. It wouldn't be safe for anybody living in the U.S.. Therefore technology is very dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThere can be many dangers in technology and social media. People can post things can later on ruin their chance at a very good job or get them fired. Things that people post can also be bullying other people and harm them. Physical technology such as robots or machinery can harm people physically. Most work accidentals occur when a machine malfunctions or when trying to fix the broken machines and getting something caught in the machine and workers trying to get something out. Though mostly social media is the one cause in bullying. Kids can get harassed everyday without even leaving your room. if someone knows you and doesn't like you, your social media feed is blown up. With the faster internet and new media showing up, its getting easier and easier for bullies to bully others online and potentially end a life or make one much worse. Even with everyone doing their best to stop it its still going to happen, the only thing we can do is try to diminish it as much as we can and or try to stop it as soon as it happens. Yet on the flip side, technology can be very helpful when connecting with old friends or trying to find out what the news is or finding new places and meeting new people. It helps our everyday lives and makes it easier. For example, right now i am typing this on my grandmas computer when before i was working on it at my and and before in school. Although technology is very helpful in its ways, its also very dangerous.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should think carefully before posting things on social media or using technology. Technology and social media are more dangerous than we think. For example, social media can ruin your chances of getting into college in the future. You may not think what you post on twitter in ninth grade will affect you four years down the road, but you are wrong. Some colleges are and will check applicants’ profiles and posts to see what type of student is applying for admissions. Some colleges and coaches will even have students sign a waiver allowing them to check their social media accounts. We all have to think and act very carefully before using social media. A post can be deleted from your account, but someone on the internet could have taken a screen shot or copied your post before you deleted it. There can be very long lasting consequences for a shortsighted action. Once something is on social media, it can impact you forever.

DeleteI personally feel that technology has its wonderful perks but it can also have its dangers. Technology can cause many problems whether its big or small and some people may not realize it. For example, in the book " The Sound of Thunder" Eckels killed one butterfly and that lead to more than just one butterfly. It changed everything when they went back into their time period. It is as simple as that. People don't realize and take the time to think about the affects they have. Today we have social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. These websites can lead to cyber bullying, mean comments and messages, and even physical interaction. Then these big problems can lead into bigger situations that nobody wants to go through. People seem to forget that whatever they post,say,or do is online forever. Social media is very dangerous and it needs to be taken seriously. Technology also has its perks and advantages. Technology is improving everyday and it makes our live easier. You can contact your family and friends if you ever need them in just one text or call. Doctors are also using technology which can help this society so much. I cant wait to see what the future holds and how improved our technology is going to be.
ReplyDeleteTechnology can be dangerous in certain ways. For example, social media can be a great way to communicate with various people but the communication may not always be used nicely. Some people may propose themselves as a danger to others on social by bullying. Bullying happens frequently on social media. I could go on instagram right now and find 3 examples if i wanted to. On social media, you could simply be joking with one of your friends and they could think you mean it literally because they can't hear that you're joking through a computer screen. On sites such as Facebook, people can simply look on your profile and find out where you live, where you go to school, where you work, who your friends are, who your family are, and your age. If the wrong person found out this personal information your safety could be in jeopardy. My advice is to show as little as possible about your personal life on the internet and report any bullying that you may see online.
