The theme of "A Sound of Thunder" is the possible dangers of technology. We see this in the explanation Travis gives of the possible outcome of killing just one mouse in the past. Period 1 Welcome!

ReplyDeletei think that social media and the tech. of today is very dangerous. The danger in technology is that ; if everything is put in tech. if any of it crashes we will loose it all. Facebook,Twitter, and instagram is also very dangerous because its a way for bully's and anyone to hide behind a screen and say what ever they want. Sometimes the comments are good and helpful but the dangerous part is they can use rude,hurtful words and get away with it because no one is there to stop it. My one friend got bullied from a fake account;someone in our school made it and no one knew who it was because the account was fake and didn't have the persons name. Technology and social media is ruining and helping peoples life's at the same time.

DeleteToday all kids are addicted to social media. These apps or medias can pose danger on people a lot. Today is a different world than it used to be and bullies hide behind social media to harass you when you don't even know who they are. Sometimes it can be helpful for looking at school news, friends, and your parents but if you don't know someone that is trying to talk to you, you should automatically block them or tell an adult. You should only be following or friends with people that you actually know. Technology is taking over child's life's. Every kid should take care over their school work over their phone everyday and all parents should be keeping up with their child on their social medias.
ReplyDeleteIf you count cyber bullying as a danger in technology then yes there is danger in technology. Other than that I don't see so many dangers in technology. The only way there can be dangers in technology is because of the people using the technology. Theyre malfunctions in technology but its easy to fix. For cyber bullying even if you tell someone to stop bullying they will not do it. Even if they were punished they would still do it until they are satisfied. So in my opinion I think that technology needs to get a phone and laptop and tablet or anything with the use of technology and read the message before you send it so if it is hateful to the person they are speaking to it should say something like "this message is not allowed due to foul language, hate towards someone, etc..." So in my opinion yes there is problems in technology but those problems are really hard to fix.

ReplyDeleteYes, I do feel there can be dangers in technology, the internet can be scary. You have to be careful with what sites you go on and who you're giving your personal information to. There are bad people everywhere and the internet isn't an exception. Every website and app isn't "bad", but you can be hacked. As long as you double check the website, you are more safe than if you didn't.
ReplyDeleteSocial media can be a very dangerous thing, depending on how use it. It is very dangerous, especially now sense almost everyone in the world uses social media. Also nothing can be deleted of of the internet, so you should be careful of what you post. Another thing is your personal information, you should never give that out, because anyone can find it if it's on the Internet. Social media can also be a good thing too, if you use it for the right reasons. Like some of them can be used as communication with people you don't see much or try to keep in touch with. In conclusion, social media can be a cool thing and a bad thing it just depends on how you use it.
ReplyDeleteSocial media is a very dangerous thing. Its full of bullies and fake accounts. Bullies are people who have nothing else to do but make fun of someone that wont defend themselves back. Because of this people could end up hurting themselves or even committing suicide. On the other side you have people who make fake accounts to make themselves look like another person. This could be really dangerous because if someone is bullying someone else on a fake account how are they going to find that person. Technology nowadays is messed up. Back then people could not bully or make fake accounts on instagram, facebook etc. because those things did not exist. If someone bullied another one back then people could find out who the bully was easier. I think new technology just makes some things harder. Some people involved in social media should think twice.

ReplyDeleteWe can see that in the modern times, everyone is investing in this particular area. No only is area that as a big economic and financial base, is also one of the most important tolls of modern society.
For example, we can see how destructive are the new military technologies, in gaza.
The social media is also a very powerful toll in today society, because they are the ones who have the responsibility to inform everyone about the latest news.
It is a area that envolves alot of manipulation, and corruption and we sholud always be careful about the news they reveal.

ReplyDeletePersonally , Social media is very dangerous in very particular ways . There is a lot of cyber bullying and thus that happening , people commit suicide and physically hurt themselves . Also , like Niyah said , if you concentrate on the internet and dedicate your life to it and something happens , everything could get lost . Very important files and papers and documents ? gone . Then where would you be ? Finally , what you put on online like social media stays with you through out life . Even though that doesn't define you ,like maybe it was an accident or something but people will define you as whatever scenario it may be . In conclusion , internet does have its perks but it also has its downfalls.
ReplyDeleteThe internet in my opinion is a good tool but then also a bad tool. For example, its good because it helps be social, helps with school and so on. The way its bad though is that people bully other people online with fake account as what was mentioned in the previous comments. Also, say if your writing a paper. All of the sudden the power goes out and you loose everything. Theirs no way of getting it back so in conclusion I feel that the Internet is a good thing as well as a bad thing
ReplyDeleteWell, yes the social media is a bad place for teens. A lot of people get judged on the media. I know what people go through when they get judge because I been judge on Facebook. People would be say thing like calling me gay and etc. but, I really don't care what they say because they don't have the gust to say it to my face. Also it called cyber bullying. A lot of kids these days kill themselfs because they can't handle what people say about them. They can't handle the pain and they just give up and their lifes. So basicaly the web isn't a great place to be on.
